Cardboard and boxes made out of it can occupy a lot of space in our home as almost everything we buy comes wrapped in a cardboard box. So instead of keeping these boxes in a forgotten place somewhere in our basement; why not get creative and make something out of them? You can make plenty of cute things out of cardboard but we decided to show you a project that your kids will like the most.  Make a lovely doll house from a few cartoons of the same dimension. Lime each other with warm glue or white glue. Put a piece of cardboard folded in half to make the roof. Organize each room with material or felt colors.  Use acrylic paints and enhances details with permanent markers. It’s simple and very inexpensive! Great idea to spend some time with your child. There are lots of products out in stores which may cost you up to 20$ but in fact could be easily made with a cost of 1$! Case in point: a lunch box or small container. Instead of spending one month’s allowance on an object you could simply make do it yourself, learn how to make a useful container by repurposing an item you already have at home; like this lunch box from a milk jug. Here is the list of necessary items:

·         an empty milk jug;

·         a marker;

·         a pair of scissors;

·         a button;

·         thread and needle;

·         some embroidery floss;

·         an elastic band;

·         (optional) some decorative scrapbook paper;

·         (optional) a brush;

·         (optional) a bit of Mod Podge;

The steps for achieving such a creative object are few and fairly easy. After you clean the milk jug (in and out), take a marker and draw half a circle on each side of the jug. You should have 3 of these half circles of the same height and the other one a lot taller; the last one should best go opposite the side of the jug's handle, and should be referred to as the lid. Now check to see if the flaps you fashioned fold down properly. If the don't, take the scissors again and work on each corner of your container, in order to make longer slits.

Then, take a large button and sew it on the outside of the lid flap. Use the scissors to make a whole underneath the bottom base of the container. Take a rubber band (preferably one which you use for your hair) half way through the hole you just made and tie a knot on the inside just like in the image. You are almost done. Try to make it more appealing my decorating it. You could write something with decorative paper and Mod Podge. Finally, there you have it: your own lunch box or container from a 1$ empty milk jug.

Materials needed:
• 1 plastic bottle (with the lid on)
• 3 straws
• 1 ping-pong ball
• Scissor
• glue and tape

The manufacturing process is fairly easy. It involves making a hole in the lid for the tail of the helicopter. Then cut the bottle to the desired size for your toy. Glue the ball to the bottle to mimic a cabin. Cut the straws in 5 pieces; see the images for guidelines. Use them to build the propellers and landing pad. Attach them to the rest of the helicopter. Give it a try. It’s the same fun as one from Toys “R” Us.

Bottle caps are small things that you usually throw away after opening your drink. Maybe you should think twice, as these objects can be recycled and used in many kinds of DIY projects. They are a cheap way to decorate objects or to add some extra style to your accessories and decorations. We will now show you ten creative ways in which you can use the once thought to be useless bottle caps.

The first idea can be put into practice by those of you who have a bar at home. You can use the bottle caps, to decorate it in different colors and shapes. You will need a lot of them, so either you start saving them or you can go and ask some friends around or even the local bars, to give you the caps they would throw away anyway. When you gathered all the caps you need to cover the top of your bar, you can start arranging them in a way you like.

Another great idea is to make coasters out of the bottle caps. You will need 9 caps for each coaster, and you can arrange them by categories. For example juice caps, for coasters that you will use while drinking juice, and so on. Or you can also arrange them by color. Don’t think so much about how to arrange them, you don’t need to follow any rules, just try to have fun while making these coaster.

Here is a DIY project idea which is easy, fun and also environmentally friendly as it is a recycling project. We’ll show you how to make a floral mirror out of egg cartons. Easy and really cheap, as most of you already have the egg cartons in your home which you were probably thinking of throwing away. But this tutorial will make you think twice about that. So here is what you’ll need for the project:

Firstly you will have to cut the cups of the egg cartons. Cut into each corner of the cup 1 slit and cut each piece in a way that it forms a petal. Then repeat this step, thus creating more roses. Then make a third cup, but this time cut the petal smaller, and roll them so they make a bud shape. Take your hot glue and glue these 3 petals together. On top put a layer made out of smaller petals. Repeat the entire process until you have enough roses to cover the sides (frame) of the mirror. You can either spray the roses with paint, choose the color you like or leave them like this, it’s your choice. If spraying, let them dry.
Now take the MDF and measures its sides in order to cut 3cm across it. Trace a line and join the marks to make a triangle. Then you just have to place your mirror in the center of it, trace it around and remove. On the top of the mirror drill 2 holes and place a hanging wire through the holes. Then secure it and paint the border made out of MDF. Next on you’ll need to glue the mirror, so it remains in that place. Than starting from one side, glue the roses to the mirror, try to place the petals as close as possible, this way you won’t leave any gaps. Continue doing this until your whole frame is covered.
